She wasn'tafraidbecause it was a small town and shelivedonlyafew blocks away.As she walked along under the tall elmtrees,Diane asked God to keep her safe fromharmanddanger.When she reached the alley, which wasashortcut to her house, she decided to takeit.However, halfway down the alley shenoticedaman standing at the end as though hewerewaitingfor her.She became uneasy and began to pray,askingforGod's protection.Instantly a comforting feeling ofquietnessandsecurity wrapped round her, she feltasthoughsomeone was walking with her.When she reached the end of the alley,shewalked right past the man and arrivedhomesafely.The following day, she read in thenewspaperthata young girl had been raped in thesamealleyjusttwenty minutes after she had beenthere.Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedyandthefactthat it could have been her, she begantoweep.Thanking the Lord for her safety andtohelpthisyoung woman, she decided to go to thepolicestation.She felt she could recognize the man,soshetoldthem her story.The police asked her if she would bewilling tolookat a lineup to see if she couldidentifyhim.She agreed and immediately pointed outthemanshe had seen in the alley the nightbefore.When the man was told he had beenidentified,heimmediately broke down and confessed.The officer thanked Diane for herbraveryandasked if there was anything they coulddoforher.She asked if they would ask the manonequestion.Diane was curious as to why he had notattackedher.When the policeman asked him, heanswered, "Because she wasn't alone.Shehadtwo tall men walking on either side ofher."Amazingly, whether you believe or not,you'renever alone.
